USE MY PROVEN 5-STEP PROCESS TO GET COACHING CLIENTS
The most common question that I get from clients is a variation of “How do I find more clients?”
If you’re reading this, it’s likely that you’re likely a coach or a healer and you have a deep passion for what you do. You want to serve more clients AND make money while you’re at it.
But the online world can be very noisy and super overwhelming!
At some point, you begin to question what you’re doing and how you’re doing it, and with so many options, it’s hard to know what to choose.
This is why I’ve broken down some of the key steps of building a highly profitable business – because it doesn’t need to be complicated.
You don’t need to….:
- Pour money into Facebook ads
- Build a funnel with bells and whistles and upsells and downsells
- Invest in expensive photos and a shiny website (I like simple and functional)
- Get another certification!
What you DO NEED is:
- Clarity on WHAT you offer and HOW it helps people
- Willingness to face your fears + doubt and do it anyway. This involves deep trust.
- A desire to come from a place of service
- Being an open channel to receiving MONEY
This is about taking responsibility for CREATING CLIENTS. When you come at it with this mindset, you can literally turn the dial up when you want more clients in your business, or turning it down when your practice is full or you need a break.
How good would it feel to have the power to create the clients and income that you truly desire?
SO GOOD, I bet!
Grab my free action guide if you don’t already have it. I’m about to walk you through the 5-step process I’ve used to build a profitable coaching business (that’s 100% aligned with who I am).
Step #1 – Get clear on your business goals and step into inspired action

Research shows that when you write down your goals, it makes it far more likely that you’ll achieve them.
It also does two other very important things:
It allows the universe to step in and support YOU.
Because the universe loves details! If you’re specific with your desires, it helps the universe align what you desire with what’s in your orbit. It’s like an energetic magnet to help accelerate what you want to draw in.
And secondly, having your goals clearly written down helps you determine what action you need to take in order to achieve those goals.
I want to be clear on something here. Manifesting isn’t just about meditating on what you desire. That’s only the first part.
You need to take inspired action to hit your goals.
Once a month, write out your very specific goals. Use details!
For example, this is what my January goals looked like. Notice how simple, but specific they are.
At the beginning of January, in my Danielle Laporte planner, I wrote…:
Beck’s January Goals
- Sell two spots for our Hawaii retreat by January 31st at 9pm. Revenue = $9500 USD
- Sell two VIP days by January 31st at 9pm. Revenue = $5,000 USD
- Sell two 1-1 coaching packages by January 31st at 9pm. Revenue = $15,000 USD
- Sell one VIP coaching package January 31st at 9pm. Revenue = $12,500 USD
Sales to 7 people. Total revenue = $42,000 (USD!)
By getting clear on my goals and doing the math, I’m inspired to…
- Reach out to people
- Post on social making sure to be clear about who I can help and how
- Connect with new leads to bring them into my orbit
- Nurture existing leads that might want to work with me
- Be consistent with my actions and continue showing up
Here’s what would have happened if I hadn’t written my goals down…
- I’d lose motivation
- I’d feel overwhelmed
- I wouldn’t know what I was headed for
- I’d second guess myself
And then I’d head down the downward spiral that isn’t good for me (or my bank account).
Stay focused, know your numbers and get clear on your goals.
In the action guide, you’ll see that I’ve included space to write out your goals and your priorities.
Once you’ve done that, you may notice that there are certain things that you thought you needed to do, but perhaps now you have the clarity to see that they’re not aligned with your priorities.
You might need to set some things aside or call in some support, so you can focus on your area of genius. Be sure to take note of that too.
Step #2 – Make energetic room for more cash and clients
This is my favorite part. Now that you’re clear on the goals, it’s time to call them in.
You heard that right!
This is where you tap into the energetic power of the universe to align your gift with the clients that need your support.
Get out some markers and a big white piece of paper. I use large sticky sheets and my kids favorite Mr. Sketch markers. You can pick out your own favorite supplies and get creative, or you can use the demo page in the Action Guide.
Draw a big heart in the center of your paper. Write your revenue goal in the center of the heart.

Then draw hearts all around the paper. These hearts represent clients and revenue. Whether you desire more clients or more money (in my opinion, they’re interchangeable) you’re going to send an energetic vibe towards them and invite them (energetically) to work with you.

I know this sounds very woo-woo, but it works.
Once you’ve drawn your heart, you can enter the names of the women that you’d like to work with inside a particular heart, or your offers, or you can leave it up to the universe to align with your potential clients.

Then, imagine the energy of the women coming in towards you and aligning with your energy.

Step #3 – Clarify your message and get it out there

If you want to work in the online space, you need to be willing to share your message.
Your purpose, your why, your passion is what will attract others to you.
So many women tell me they’re not quite sure what to share or how to share it!
I wrote about what parts of your story to share in a previous post, but here are a few more prompts to get your creative juices flowing.
To get your message out there, think about….:
- What topics can you confidently speak about?
- What lights you up and fires you up?
- What do you find yourself speaking about over and over again?
- How can you speak about these lessons in a way that it helps others
- Who needs to hear this message?
Now comes the action!
Look at where you can share these messages that it’s likely your target audience will see it. Perhaps it’s Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn. If you know who your Ideal Customer Avatar (ICA) is, you can reverse engineer the process of where she might be.
And if you’re just starting out and you’re not sure who your ICA is, please don’t let this stop you. Just post and see who shows up. You’ll learn about your ICA BY DOING.
And then? Put it on your calendar. Commit to sharing and posting!
There are SO many options for communicating your message. This might be…:
- Blog post
- Social media post
- Newsletter to your list
- Podcast
- Video
- Facebook live
- Hosting a free talk at a library
- Creating a women’s circle
Don’t underestimate the power of being consistent. I’m always shocked when someone messages me and tells me they just went and read my last two years of posts.
This key is to do it regularly and to make it a habit. Some people go as far as having a content calendar and planning their posts out. I don’t quite that far because I like to be spontaneous.
And don’t worry about doing everything at the same time. Start with one thing and then expand from there. I started with blogging, then Instagram, then added Facebook, then started a monthly newsletter.
Start small, one step at a time and add as you grow.
And don’t forget about the offline world too. You know, that whole face to face, human to human connection? There is power in creating in-person connections. Go to networking events, reach out to other business owners, connect with other professionals.
I did a ton of online and offline collaboration as I built my skills and confidence up. But I made sure to always add value no matter what space I was working in.
Take notice of what you’re drawn towards naturally, and who’s drawn towards you. Your potential clients are everywhere!
Step #4 – Create coaching clients through an attitude of service

Now that you’ve gotten clear on your goals, opened up the channels to receive, and worked on your messaging, let’s take it one step further.
In truth, this step should happen throughout the other steps, but it’s also good to look at this one all on it’s own.
If you’re a coach or a healer then I know you have a powerful gift to share. But you need to understand HOW you like to serve and WHO you can truly help.
So think about all you have to GIVE and how by you sharing your gift, you’ll be helping these people.
This is an act of deep service.
Think about…:
- Your client’s pain points. In what ways are they stuck or suffering?
- How can you help them with that?
- How do you imagine supporting them? Make a list.
- What kind of tools and resources can you provide them with that will help them?
- What’s in their highest good? How can you help?
Tap into THAT.
As I mentioned above, you need to open the energetic channels to received these clients, but then you also need to do the work of reaching out to them.
Especially if you’re in the early stages of building your coaching business, I’m telling you it’s not enough just to post on social media and hope that your clients will find you.
You need to be proactive. You need to reach out to people. You need to be direct and own what you do.
Not only are YOU worth it, but your clients are worth it.
Do you want them to stay stuck or do you want them to have the chance to step into the best version of themselves [or heal or transform or insert what you do here].
If it’s your desire to serve more and to make an impact – then stay connected to this desire with all your client interaction.
You need to share what you do with the world! This is what will keep you inspired to keep going.
So reach out. Connect with others. Tell them about the work that you do and how you can help.
OWN WHAT YOU DO.
Step #5 – Reflect on how you may be holding yourself back

Lastly, look back on your week or your month and check in with what felt right and what didn’t feel right. Ask yourself…:
- What worked for me this week?
- What didn’t feel right for me?
- What did my limiting beliefs tell me? What did my inner critic say?
- What kind of support can I give myself (or ask others for) so that I’ll stay connected to my greater vision?
The work of the soul-centered entrepreneur is to always come back to your core, your center, your inner spark. When you get off-center, or mis-aligned, you’ll be able to feel it inside your body first. You want to always be creating from your inner sparkle, the part of you that is more you than anything else.
It’s your outdated beliefs and conditioning that sometimes covers this part of us up.
That’s why I always tell my clients that a big part of the work is to SEE what your limiting beliefs are – because this is literally the road map to get you from where you are, to where you want to go.
It’s all the stuff that’s ready to shift. So it’s important to check in with yourself on a regular basis and see what’s coming up.
Being a coach or a healer is hugely rewarding work. You wouldn’t be doing it otherwise! But it’s time you truly own what you do and allow others to experience your gifts.
Now over to you! What do you commit to doing that’ll get you more clients? Let me know in the comments!
xoxo
